Baby D | Alpharetta Newborn Photographer

Posted on July 2, 2009

Oh what a sweet baby…  and I just adore this family.  This is the second sweet baby they have shared with me and it was great to see them all again.  Little D was just precious.  He slept so well for us then proceeded to use the bathroom all over all three of us.  It was so hilarious we were all laughing so hard, except maybe Dad.  Not sure how funny he thought poop in his hair was.  And no I was not posing him on his head… he just happen to bending over at the right… er, wrong time.  LOL!  Sorry Dad I had to tell that story.  At any rate, D was great.  He slept, ate and slept again for us outside.  The outside basket shot took some patience but we got it and I am thrilled at how it turned out.  Such pretty colors.  So enjoy the little man…

A very handsome 3 year old | Atlanta Child Photographer

Posted on June 30, 2009

A short while ago I got to meet a very handsome, very curious three year old.  He was so funny and all boy.  I had to laugh as he was probably twice the size of my 3 year old (who is not big by the way).  We had tons of fun running around and playing.  It can be such a fun age to photograph.  He was still full of his own ideas but allowed me to lead him in certain directions.

Miss A - 6 weeks | Alpharetta Newborn and Baby Photographer

Posted on June 24, 2009

When Miss A’s parent’s contacted me they realized they had missed the newborn window but didn’t want to put off images of this sweetie any longer.  As many of us do in the beginning we think we have time and once we get busy and occupied with our new life you realize how fast they change.  This is one reason I highly recommend scheduling your newborn session well before baby arrives.  But sometimes we miss that window and I am always game to go with the flow.  I love all babies.  I love every stage and I am always up for the challenge of getting an older baby to sleep and curl like a newborn.  Thankfully so was mom and what a great helper she was!  We worked together to get some amazing shots of her.  I was so pleased when I looked at the files on my computer.

And Miss A was simply adorable.  She still had a very newborn look to her which I loved.  That stage goes by way too fast in my opinion.  When she was awake she was happy and when she was asleep she let us move her all around.  She was the perfect little six week old model.  :)  See for yourself….

Thank you T family for choosing me to be this special little girl’s photographer.  I enjoyed every moment.

Miss A turns 1 | Atlanta Child Photographer

Posted on June 21, 2009

It has been a whole year since I saw little Miss A.  She was all of 6 weeks old and was as cute as could be.  She is still just as cute, just much bigger.  She is walking and exploring and climbing and just having fun.  Such a fun loving little personality.  We had a blast downtown at Piedmont Park.  Early in the morning before the crazy heat and big crowds.  Although there were still plenty of people and dogs to see.  We played, we walked, we visited the ubber cool playground that looks like it is straight from the 70’s and just a great time.  I have so many fun ones of her.  Here are just a few.

With her beautiful Mommy!

She was just starting to take steps so the walking shots are my favorite.
I love how they walk like Frankenstein.  LOL!
We started out at the chair you see in the background and she just started walking.

And a favorite of mine… we had fun playing peek a boo!

img_6034

And one with a bit more serious look… love the finger and the ready-set-go position.

Thank you C family for letting capture your sweet little girl.

These are fabulous, Alisha! If I were Mom, I would have a very hard time deciding between a canvas of the peek a boo shot, or that last black and white. Go on Mom, get them both!!

I have been photographing this happy, blue eyed boy since he was a new little man.  He gets more fun to photograph every year.  He is the third child and as they typically are he is very laid back and happy.  I don’t know what it is about third children but they just seem to be so flexible and beyond their years (or months in his case).  When I got to their new home (which had a rockin yard for photographs) Mom told me he had not napped and was grumpy.  Well he was awesome… he was happy, patient, tolerant and just go with the flow.  You could tell by then end he was sleepy but I only think he complained once the whole time which lasted about 2 seconds.   He is sitting now and was totally happy to just hang with me.  Even when mom had to step away for a moment.  :)  And man can you say blue eyes.  Just love his eyes and his curly hair.  Thank you mom for having us out again.  He was a joy!

And hold your horses… this image below might be a new all time fave of mine.

Swim Baby Swim!!!! | Atlanta Photographer

Posted on June 17, 2009

So I have been a busy bee with sessions… which is awesome!  But I have not been able to really share my own kids on here much.  We have had a great summer so far (for the most part– there is some bickering every now and then).  One of the things that has kept us busy is Swim Team.  This is not only the first time my kids have been on a team but this is also my first experience with the whole swim team thing.  Now don’t get me wrong… my kids have been in swim lessons for years and are quite the little fish but this is a very different thing.  The first day I thought they would pass out as they tried to swim the 25 m freestyle.  LOL!  But now, you should see them.  Garrett’s warm up is 100 m freestyle and he now knows how to do the breast stroke and backstroke.   The backstroke is quickly becoming his best event.  They have both learned how to breath while they swim too which is huge and are learning the art of diving.

Swim team is quite the commitment too.  In May we practiced 5 days a week in the afternoon in some FREEZING water and then once school is out it is practice 3 days a week at 8 am with Friday being Fun Fridays.  Meets are on Thursday evening and we are there for no less than 4 hours.  Garrett’s last relay is usually not till around 9 pm.  So it is a big deal and I was certainly apprehensive about it… but I have to say it has been great.  My kids never complain about going, have become MUCH stronger swimmers and I think the routine and exercise of it all has really helped the attitudes around my house.

So will I do it next year… YEP!  Maybe Lydia can go too.  :)  I am sort of sad that we only have another week and a half of it.  We will all definitely miss it.  I wanted to share a few shots of the kids doing there thing… The first shot is of our first meet.  This shows you only a fraction of the people there.  Seriously there are like 300 people at these things crammed into a neighborhood swimming pool.  It takes some getting used to.

Here is Ella waiting for her first event at her first meet.  She is the one in the swim cap and blue goggles.

Here is Ella, again at her first meet, smiling at me and Scott cheering her on.  Love this shot.

Welcome to the world of summer swim team!!! We were new to it last year and as a family that’s participated in quite a few different sports over the years swim team is the all time family favorite!! Our kids swim 3 mornings a week at 7:30am and have one meet a week in the evening. If you ever get a chance to be a timer you should. My husband and I loved be timers last year because it puts you right at the edge of the pool rather than behind a fence with the rest of the parents. ;) Have fun… looking forward to hearing more about it over the summer! We just signed up for swim team and start next week!!!! Woo-Hoo!!

Little Bitty E | Marietta Newborn and Baby Photography

Posted on June 16, 2009

You might remember this couple here on my blog…  one of my most favorite maternity sessions ever.  J and K are just adorable, fun, and giddy about the birth of their first daughter.  The came to see me about a week ago and we had THE best time with little E.  She was a wee bit early so she was SUPER sleepy.  And so adorable.  I have had so many beautiful new babies lately and so happy to tell you that the wonderful trend will continue.  I have many more on the books and a few more to share.  And I for one am not complaining.  I have enjoyed every one and I do believe my tiniest clients are also some of my favorite ones.

Take a look at this sweetie….

Two weeks | Atlanta Newborn and Baby Photographer

Last weekend I got to meet this sweet baby girl.  She is an absolute doll.  I have a soft spot in my heart with baby’s with hair as my kids were the same way.  They were all born with tons of it and my E’s hair was like Baby E’s hair.  Full and thick and actually looked like she had already had a haircut.  But the sweet Baby E had dark dark hair and beautiful long eyelashes.  She was just dreamy!  And so good to us.  She let us know if she didn’t like something but her protest was short and she was back to sleep without any trouble.   I enjoyed visiting with her parents too.. and thank you guys for making the long drive.  I think you will agree it was worth the effort.  :)

Did mention her eyelashes?

Mom could not stop smiling while she was holding her sweet little one.
The love a mother has for her child is so glorious to watch… just another perk of my job.

And Baby E has Daddy wrapped around his finger… already.

It has been a while since I have had a senior session and I enjoyed Kayla so much.  We chatted and talked and in between all that took some great images.  She is such a natural in front of the camera.  So together and sure of herself.  I love to see that in these young ladies.  It makes me think she will be successful in all that she does.  Girl Power!  :)  So I know Kayla and her mom are waiting for these… hope you enjoy.

What a week… so many newborns.  Such fun!  I have so enjoyed spending time with so many sweet babies.  Makes me love my job that much more.  And I am not done yet.  One more tomorrow to finish off my marathon of newborns.  I am so excited to share Baby B with you.  He was not the sleepiest guy but once we wore him out he was awesome.  He was so easily molded into different shapes and my oh my, was he ever cute.  I have enjoyed spending time with Mom and Dad too… they are just awesome people and I look forward to working with their new family as B grows.
