Shannon - Milton High School Class of 2009
Posted on August 26, 2008
About a week ago I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon, a current year Senior. We decided to go to one of my local favorite spots not realizing the bug overload we would encounter. The mosquitoes were awful and biting me right through my bug spray. And then on top of that I think my bug spray attracted the yellow jackets because they followed me around the whole time. I know Shannon thought I was a nut… I am not fond of bees so you can only imagine how I reacted to them flying all around me. :( Thanks for putting up with me Shannon and for braving the bugs. I think in the end it will be worth the bites. Shannon is such a classic beauty, she was a joy to photograph and a joy to be around. Thanks for the opportunity to meet and work with you Shannon. I will have your proofs to you very soon.

She sleeps…
Posted on August 23, 2008
So after the last post I thought I would show you a more peaceful side of Lydia. I am not sure why (probably her age) but she is taking longer to get sleep for her nap lately. After three children I know what this means… the end of napping is near. :( It makes me so sad to think about that but this is how it began for all three. It is so hard for them to give up that nap and barely make it through the day. So hard for me too! So last week I had to wake her up to go get big brother at school and so I thought I would open her curtain and grab a shot of her. I got ONE and she woke up and this is it. Grainy, dark, shadowy, but my girl snuggled up to her blanket. It is such a sweet time in her life I hope I never forget.

Three boys… she is a busy Mama!
Posted on August 22, 2008
Over the summer one of my very good friends came up to Georgia to visit. She used to live her and then she left me moved to Florida. She comes up for the summers but unfortunately we only got to see each other twice. Once for a fun girls night out and once for a super quick photo shoot of her boys. We were racing a super big thunderstorm the whole time so my time was very limited with the three of them. I have known the littlest one since he was born and he gets cuter ever year. He has the most incredible eyes. They are so unique the way the they swirl… I just love them. So even though I am a bit late in letting her see these I wanted to share. I am sure she is super irritated waiting patiently to see them. ;) Love ya Kara! Enjoy. I will have them all to you soon!
The oldest… he has grown up so much this year. He is so handsome.
The very sweet middle child. He is a doll.
And the youngest, curly headed cutie pie!
And this one just cracks me up! Boys…

One more newborn for the month…
Posted on August 20, 2008
Meet Baby Lacy! She made her debut a bit early (3 weeks) so I thought that my last August newborn (which would make 7 or 8 if you count the twins) would be later in the month but no Miss Lacy had other plans. She was so tiny, still under 6 lbs when we met. And since she was a breech baby she was super bendy. She just curled right up and slept through it all. I had the best time with her. She is so petite and delicate… she suits her name just perfectly.

I just love this shot of the three of them.
This gives new meaning to the word… tiny.
And at the end after her belly was full we saw some eyes. I loved watching her look around the room.
Thank you to the M family for choosing me as your photographer. I loved every minute!

Haven’t booked your Holiday Session? Feeling sad?

Don’t fret there is still time.
Two year old in the above images was not tortured or teased in any way to obtain images…
these are a direct result of one such two year old deciding napping wasn’t necessary today. LOL!
On a more serious note… my Holiday Schedule is almost completely full. October is booked solid. I have limited availability in September left and November has one date left open. All Holiday orders must be in by November 15th to guarantee December delivery. If you are not on my schedule and would like to be please email me ASAP. I will do what I can to fit you into my schedule.
I have also had some clients inquire about Holiday Mini Sessions. If you are interested please let me know ASAP so that I see if that is a viable option.
Thank you to everyone who booked early with me. I am overwhelmed at the response. I had October almost completely booked a month ago. My clients ROCK!
Please keep in mind that if you are interested in a maternity and /or newborn schedule I will have space for you. I always leave room in my schedule for my newbies. Proven by last week’s marathon 6 newborn sessions in a week + 2 Seniors (a record for me). The newborn stage is too important to not capture.

More newbies… this time x 2!
Posted on August 18, 2008
Two sweet little boys… but can I just say photographing twins is challenging. I would no sooner get one to sleep then the other one would wake up or better yet, kick his brother and wake him up. LOL! But with any challenge the rewards of getting it right are even sweeter. I had the best time working with these two and mom and dad are just awesome. I took my friend Julie with me to be my extra pair of hands and I am so thankful I did. Having her there allowed mom to sit and observe which I think she appreciated. Thank you mom and dad for letting us stay so long. I think you will agree it was well worth it.
But this shot below is like hitting the jackpot to me. We worked so hard to get this shot.
I literally got one shot before baby boy on the right woke up and I LOVE it!
Don’t they look so peaceful here together?

from a week ago. My marathon week of newbies.
Last weekend was not only the weekend of boys it was the weekend of boys with tons of hair. This little guy had the BEST hair. Thick and dark with tips that looked like they had been highlighted red. So interesting and so very cool. He is a very special little man born to an amazing couple. A couple I think very highly of. You can see their maternity session here. This sweet litte guy is the 8th… yes you read that right… 8th first born son with the name John. I thought that was so neat. I am all about family names and this name is like the king of family names.
Mom and Dad (and grandmother) kept telling me I had my work cut out for myself because Baby J did not sleep alot, but he proved them all wrong. He was amazing for me. He was asleep when I got there and stayed that way the whole time. We even tried to wake him and up and couldn’t. My little heater worked some magic on him I think. He is a little older than most of my newborns at 16 days or so when I photographed him but he slept and curled up just fine. He was a chunk too, gotta love baby fat… and on top of the chub he had beautiful skin. So in the end we had a fantastic, easy session with one adorable little boy. Thank you Mom and Dad for choosing me to be Baby J’s first photographer. I had the best time with you guys.
Killer hair and killer lashes! And oh my goodness his squishy mouth. So kissable.
I even caught a smile and this was the only one I saw that day.
Snuggled up in a basket… he loved it.

Seriously people… I get to photograph the most beautiful babies.
Posted on August 13, 2008
I think I have the best job in the world. I get to hold little tiny babies, spend a couple of precious hours devoted just to them, and then as a result they are forever a part of my heart. I never in a million years thought that would be a side affect of a photography business but it truly is for me. I feel so connected to these families and children I photograph. And I think they are the most gorgeous babies around (I sound sort of like a doting grandmother don’t I?) Well my weekend started out with a dear friend and her brand new baby boy. He is the family’s third child and third boy. Yep this amazing mama has 3 boys 4 years old and under. The two big brothers have such amazing personalities and are so full of energy like most young boys. They make me tired just watching them. LOL! And while getting used to three children is a big adjustment (believe me I remember) I know that she is up for it. I feel very proud to be their photographer. They are not only clients, but good friends and getting to capture their growing family has been awesome. I look forward to watching Baby T grow over the next few years and one day I will be chasing him around along with his two big brothers.
Oh my look at that hair and his big blue eyes. And I betcha they will stay blue.
Feet!
He loved my basket.

Robert - Class of 2009, Milton High School
Posted on August 11, 2008
On Friday evening I met up with Robert, my last Senior Rep for Milton High School. Robert contacted me back in the Spring but we decided to wait till August for our session. I really had a great time with Robert. I think we laughed as much as we took pictures. We found some sketchy doors, tons of mosquitos, shattered glass, and a wedding as we roamed around downtown Alpharetta. It was an interesting evening. I am thrilled with how his images turned out, the camera loves him. Robert (and his Dad) are also into photography. I checked out some of his work, it was pretty cool. Now we just have to get him off the “green box” mode as he calls it (that would be total automatic) and get him to start shooting in manuel mode. :) But anyway… let me introduce you to Robert.
One of my favorites… love that HUGE white wall.
Catchin a bit of flare.
One sketchy, slightly opened, red door it made a perfect background.
Who knew a dead tree could be so interesting in a photograph?
Thanks Robert for choosing me as your Senior Photographer… I will have your gallery to you soon.
